Commercial printing

Commercial printing is the specialisation that has made our name for over 100 years. The result of this unique experience is found in our busy state-of-the-art pressroom run by highly trained technicians. With our significant rolling capital investment programme, we have a commercial printing service that meets almost every conceivable printing need.

Our pressroom is well worth a visit. A multitude of presses works in the four broad categories of our commercial color printing mastercraft.

Heatset web printing is used for bookwork and catalogue, directory and educational printing with one or two colours with the capability to produce sections for notched and burst binding. Web printing of up to ten colours is there for multi colour publications, forms and security backgrounds. Sheet-fed presses work with five colours, plus UV and IR coating for colour sections, and covers and more is often where we print showroom and product catalogues.

Relatively small documents - color leaflets, brochures, or a smaller run of catalogues, for full-color printing - usually go to our sheet-fed two colour printing machines.

Litho Printing
Litho Sheet-fed printing using Heidelberg presses, Litho Web Offset Timson T32, Two-colour Press Litho Web Offset Muller A68, Ten-colour Litho Web Offset Muller Grapha. It is in the litho area that we produce brochure printing and product guides.

Digital printing
Oce Pagestream Two 440 Reel fed Laser printers, Xerox 4635 Sheet fed laser printers and Fourteen Checktronic 4000 laser printers.

Web Offset presses
The Web Offset presses are very efficient on products with large paginations, in excess of 200 pages. Production is in 64 page sections, which suits print runs over 5,000 copies.

As a commercial printing company specialising in full-color printing, we are in demand for the extraordinary process of lithography which makes for flawless results. Litho works its magic through the clever use of a simple fact of physics - that oil and water don't mix. Metal plates etched with the pages for your order, whether for brochure printing or catalogue printing, are treated to attract our oil-based inks. Non-image areas are doused with water and so repel the inks. That sounds rather basic but the result is very sophisticated - and what our customers term as perfection.
