A persistent criminal has been handed a five-year anti-social behaviour order by Wolverhampton City Magistrates and has found himself banned from all car parks in the UK.
Last spring Mark Leo, 25, was named as the city Police's number one target in a car crime crackdown following a history of offences dating back to 1994 and following February's court hearing he faces up to five-years in prison if he breaches the strict rules of the anti-social behaviour order.
The five-year ban, believed to the first of its kind, forbids Leo from entering any car park, repair garage or car showroom in the UK. In addition to the car park ban he is also prohibited from carrying any crime related tools including screwdrivers and penknives.
Speaking after the decision Sgt Mark Evans commented: "He has been responsible for a disproportionate amount of the crime in Wolverhampton. From today, Wolverhampton City Centre is now a safer place to park your car."
Leo has previously been convicted of offences including theft from cars, handling stolen goods, carrying knives in public and burglary with intent to steal
