Manchester traffic warden Damien Smethurst was so pleased at doubling his personal best by issuing one ticket every four minutes; 101 parking fines in one shift.
Damien’s joy was to be short lived when he found out that all of the tickets issued were to be cancelled. The cancellation was due to the fact that the tickets were issued on a bank holiday when parking restrictions do not apply.
Damien Smethurst employers Control Plus, Manchester's parking contractor, said "Our parking attendants are thoroughly trained but on this occasion an error occurred."
A Council spokesman said, "The tickets will be cancelled and the motorists will receive a day's free parking as an apology."
