Schlumberger e-City, a business segment of Schlumberger Limited, is demonstrating its new range of Varioflex Pay-on-Foot (P-o-F) automatic and manual pay stations and enhanced entry/exit terminals for the first time in the UK.
The revolutionary designs of the new Varioflex machines, with their crisp profiles and use of contrasting materials and finishes, extend the stylish edge created by the Company for its Pay & Display (P&D) parking terminals into off-street parking. They aim to complement the increasingly attractive appearance of today’s car parks, whether new or refurbishment projects.
Varioflex automatic pay stations are available with an integral colour display screen which is recessed – along with the ergonomically-designed controls – to create a private and secure environment for users, a particularly important consideration for those paying with credit/debit cards. User instructions can be provided on-screen, via functions keys, luminous guides and/or voice prompts.
The new hardware complements the Company’s existing Varioflex management server, a well-proven system for centrally monitoring and managing a number of car parks from a single location. The flexible network architecture makes for greater connectivity between car parks and provides an open platform for integrating external systems, e.g. vehicle number recognition, CCTV and intercoms.
Compact and stylish Varioflex manual pay stations are of modular design, enabling operators to adapt the hardware layout so as to fit the space available, i.e. horizontally on a desk-top or stacked vertically under a desk.
A sophisticated range of customised services can be supported by the new pay stations, including fully configurable ticket families to support a variety of user groups and services, comprehensive subscriber management with detailed account tracking, merchant bonus schemes, deferred payment tickets, and access to other products and services, e.g. beverages, accessories, bicycle rental, etc.
All user interface controls comply with the European Community Disability Discrimination Act (EC DDA), providing the same level of access to wheel-chair bound drivers as for the able-bodied.
Varioflex has evolved from the FlexioÔ range of P-o-F parking equipment, benefiting from the Company’s 30 years experience in designing and producing P&D parking and mass transit ticketing terminals for world markets. All Varioflex systems undergo full testing in simulated on-site trials which customers are welcome to witness prior to delivery.
Schlumberger e-City is a world leader in on-street parking solutions. Globally, its systems control more than 2.6 million parking spaces in more than 3,000 cities and 40 countries.
