Peter Hermitage has been appointed as acting chairman of the SIA following Molly Meacher’s shock resignation last week.
Hermitage, who became a member of the SIA Board in April 2003, will remain in the role until June 2004 at which point a permanent Chairman will be appointed having been sought through open competition.
Accepting Meacher’s resignation with regret the SIA Board issued the following statement: “Molly has made a considerable contribution to the successful establishment of the SIA and its strong relationship with the private security industry and all stakeholders.”
The changes in personnel are said to be having no knock on effect tot he current SIA schedule which plans to see the rollout licensing of door supervisors and wheel clampers throughout 2004.
