National Car Parks Limited (NCP) is pleased to announce the acquisition of George Watt Limited, a parking management company headquartered in Wimbledon, using the trading style of George Watt Parking (GWP).
GWP was founded in 1993 and manages 19 sites across the UK, consisting of 3 multi-storey and 16 surface car parks, including an off-airport site at Edinburgh airport.
The management of GWP will not be transferring to NCP, being re-deployed to a sister company. However, as NCP is acquiring GWP, the latter and GWP now become subsidiary companies within the NCP Group. The terms and conditions of the 64 operating staff will remain unchanged as they continue to be employees of GWP.
Commenting on the acquisition, NCP Chief Executive Bob Macnaughton said:
'The acquired car parks will be branded NCP with immediate effect. We believe this brand indicates high standards of customer service, car park security and management expertise which our customers around the UK value and respect.'
'The acquired car parks will also become part of NCP’s rigorous new-build, maintenance & refurbishment regime involving a budgeted expenditure of £30 million in 2002.'
'Customers of GWP will also benefit from these car parks becoming part of the NCP network, allowing airport on-line booking, web-based car park ‘finder’ and comprehensive information in our ‘Spaces’ guide.'
