A new campaign highlighting the relentless march of night bus routes across the capital starts today.
Night-time travellers in Elephant & Castle, Clapham, Croydon, Brixton and Hammersmith will be visited by information staff this month to highlight that there are nearly 30 per cent more night buses and 25 more night bus routes in the capital than this time last year.
London Buses Director of Strategy Dick Halle said:
"Londoners now have more opportunities than ever to travel in the capital after midnight. Travelling to or from pubs, clubs or work has never been easier and safety is improving with CCTV for every bus and the work of the transport policing unit being extended to cover night travel.
"Trafalgar Square is no longer the only place to catch a night bus. Over the last year we've introduced new links between places like Kingston and Ealing and Leamouth and Highbury to join-up travel and make London a truly 24 hour city."
The "More travel by moonlight" and "More routes materialise at night" campaigns include posters on bus shelters, stops and on the vehicles, posters in 1,500 washrooms and 200,000 local leaflets.
