Millions of London’s bus passengers continue to enjoy improvements to services Transport for London revealed today.
Latest performance figures published today by London Buses show that buses are running more reliably and more services are operating compared to last year.
Data taken from between January to March 2003 across London shows reductions in the average waiting time for high frequency services (which account for 90 per cent of the network) with the same period in 2002.
It also reveals that bus passengers travelled an extra 178 million kilometres (up 14 per cent) than they did for the same period in 2002.
London Buses Director of Performance Clare Kavanagh said:
"I’m delighted that these figures confirm that more buses are arriving when they should. Better management of services and more buses are bringing better services right across the capital.
"Congestion charging has delivered improvements for journeys in central London since it’s introduction in February and this is reflected in the data published today."
The performance of individual bus routes by borough are published on the TfL website.
