Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London launched the Transport for London consultation toolkit today, a tough new set of guidelines that commit TfL to consult on schemes in a focused, accessible and honest way.
TfL listened to comments from boroughs and stakeholders when compiling the consultation toolkit.
Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London said:
"These guidelines set a new standard for public consultation. They will ensure that all Londoners have an equal opportunity to give their views on Transport for London projects and that all views are taken into account."
The toolkit will help TfL make better-informed decisions when considering the introduction of new schemes and initiatives.
Bill Hamilton, Head of Group Public Affairs at Transport for London said:
"TfL is committed legally to meeting the high standards set by the toolkit guidelines. We will work to ensure all consultations give the public the best possible opportunity to comment on schemes and that all views are considered when deciding whether or not to progress schemes."
