The Department for Transport has today published National Statistics on a range of topics relating to transport in its annual compendium volume Transport Statistics Great Britain 2004.
The publication has this year been restructured to reflect the improved thematic approach already adopted on the Departmental web site. Topics covered include the following:

In addition, TSGB tables on the web-site will from now on be updated during the course of the year where possible, as new data become available.
Notes to editors
Most of the statistics in Transport Statistics Great Britain are National Statistics. However, some of the figures included are not National Statistics, for example, figures on rail, provided by a number of operators, and figures on aviation provided by the Civil Aviation Authority. These are clearly identified.
As the structure of the publication has been changed, a look-up table has been provided for users, linking the old and new table numbers.
