Recent surveys carried out by London Buses have revealed that 27 million night bus passenger trips were taken in the past year (03/04)- that’s up by 82 per cent from 2000/01.
Night bus passenger numbers are being boosted by increases in both leisure travellers and those using services to travel to and from work
London Buses, Director of Performance, Clare Kavanagh said:
“ These figures are quite amazing, the London bus revolution is clearly driving the Capitals growth as a 24 hour city.
“Night buses have seen a number of major improvements over the last four years and so have become more attractive to everyone as a reliable way go get home. Four out of five buses now have CCTV, reliability is at an all time high and night buses are more frequent than ever.”
