8/1/2003 0% interest for 3 months on credit card purchases… forever Source:http://www.barclaycard.co.uk, Source date: Openplan and Barclaycard have teamed up to launch a new credit card offering 0% interest on purchases for 3 months – permanently. The new card could save customers with offset mortgages thousands of pounds. “Barclaycard for Openplan” offers up to 86 days interest-free credit on every purchase as a permanent feature of the card. With this guaranteed interest-free period, customers can keep money in their current or savings account longer and offset their mortgage or maximise savings in the process. “Many people already use credit cards to maximise offset benefits,” comments Sue Sjuve, Director of Openplan. “Barclaycard for Openplan is designed to help people make their money work even harder. It has double the interest-free period of some credit cards, allowing customers the freedom to spend while keeping funds working in their current or saving accounts longer.” Based on a £100,000, 25 year mortgage, an Openplan customer putting £250 of weekly spending on the card could save up to £4,400 on their mortgage payments and cut the loan term by over a year. To help customers keep a track of their finances, “Barclaycard for Openplan” statements will clearly show the monthly payment required to avoid paying interest. Other card features:
Barclaycard for Openplan is only available to new Barclaycard customers with any Openplan arrangement. The offer is available through Barclays Branches.
