11/1/2004 Globe Express recognised for C-TPAT validation Source:http://www.eyefortransport.com, Source date: The US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) agency recently recognised Globe Express Services (GES) for exemplary compliance in the C-TPAT program. In Spring 2004, the CBP Validation Team visited Globe’s US headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina to evaluate overall and procedural C-TPAT effectiveness. CBP’s final report noted that Globe “has demonstrated effective security measures within its organisation as well as a dedication to working with others to strengthen overall supply chain security.” In addition to verifying Globe’s adherence to C-TPAT practices, this validation was also designed to build a stronger security partnership between CBP and GES. As one of the first freight forwarders & customhouse brokers to voluntarily participate in the C-TPAT program (original MoU submitted in August 2002), Globe remains committed to meeting CBP’s security requirements and helping its customers do the same. This validation included Globe’s four US offices in Charlotte (NC), Atlanta (GA), Columbus (OH), and Tampa (FL). It also examined international supply chain security at Globe’s eight overseas offices (China – Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Shanghai, Qingdao, Tianjin, Taipei; India – Mumbai).
In related news, US Customs & Border Protection Commissioner Robert Bonner reported that the C-TPAT has reached a major milestone with over 7,000 members, making it the largest voluntary private sector-government partnership in US history.
