Salvesen signs 5-year agreement with Alpha Flight Services

Christian Salvesen has reached an agreement in principle with Alpha Flight Services (AFS) for the provision of warehouse and distribution services of time-critical multi-temperature meals and associated airline in-cabin products.
The agreement signals a further expansion into the foodservice market and a golden opportunity for Salvesen.
Part of Alpha Airports Group Plc, the largest UK supplier of retailing and catering services for airports and airlines, AFS provides over 50 million meals a year to more than 100 airlines from 59 airports on four continents. This division includes Alpha In-Flight Retail, offering full concession, pre-order, and wholesaling and bonded stores services to airlines.
The contract will be for a period of five years, with Christian Salvesen commencing initial transport activity from November 1st, 2004.
AFS will be opening a dedicated production & consolidated distribution centre, with Salvesen providing general warehousing, stock management and distribution functions UK wide with the potential for expansion in mainland Europe
