6/1/2005 DMA annual Financial Services Conference tackles declining consumer confidence in financial products Source:http://www.dma.org.uk, Source date: Financial Services experts from leading brands such as HSBC, Barclays, Capital One, Egg and Citibank head up the DMA's annual one day Financial Services Conference - 29 June, One Whitehall Place, London The need to restore consumer trust in financial products is one of the major issues facing the financial services industry. Global market conditions and damaging corporate failures have influenced the decline in consumer confidence, heightened in the UK by the collapse of pension funds and some trusted financial institutions, the misselling of certain financial products and poorly performing investment plans. This year's DMA Financial Services Conference will provide delegates with the opportunity to explore these issues with some of the industry's leading experts and hear how to create effective and compliant marketing campaigns. David Metcalfe, Conference Chairman, DMA Scotland Chair and Head of Wholesale Banking Development at Lloyds TSB Scotland said, "Enhancing consumer opinion and trust in financial services products is vital if we are to improve the reputation of the financial services industry. Direct marketing has suffered from negative publicity in recent months and it is therefore key that the DMA's annual Financial Services Conference looks at how we can build this trust to benefit consumers and the industry alike." In addition to case studies from leading financial services brands, this one day Conference provides delegates with the opportunity to take part in practical break out sessions focusing on insurance services and financial services with a focus on compliant financial promotions.
