2/1/2006 New appointments at Eurotunnel, Pacer, Freight Links Express, FWL, DPWN, Marten Transport, Landstar, Sea Containers Source:http://www.eyefortransport.com, Source date: Eurotunnel has a new director for rail freight development, Pacer International has a new board member, Freight Links Express has made management changes, FWL has completed its management line up, DPWN has a new regional communications manager in Europe, Marten Transport has a new CFO, Landstar has a new CFO and a new president of its Global Logistics division, Sea Containers has a new president & chief executive. Eurotunnel has appointed François Coart as director for rail freight development. Prior to joining Eurotunnel, Coart held positions in Bombardier and Alstom Transport, including business development director for Western Europe and vice president for sales & marketing in France. Pacer International has appointed senior rail industry and newspaper executive Robert Starzel to its board of directors, effective January 4, 2006. Most recently chairman of the San Francisco Newspaper Co, Starzel served as senior representative of the chairman of the Union Pacific Railroad from 2000-2004. Prior to that, he was UPRR's senior vice president, and earlier served as the railroad's vice president, Western region. In 1996, at the time of Southern Pacific Transportation Co's merger with the UPRR, Starzel was vice chairman of SPTC, having joined the company in 1988. Starzel's appointment coincides with the resignation from the board of Marc Becker, a director representing Apollo Management IV, Pacer's equity sponsor from 1999 to 2004. Freight Links Express Holdings has announced the following management changes, effective immediately: Lim Boon Kwong has been appointed as chief operating officer. Lim was formerly with BDP International, his last appointment being regional CFO, Asia Pacific & Middle East. Prior to that, he held operational responsibilities such as general manager Singapore & Malaysian operations. Henry Chua Tiong Hock will relinquish his chief operating officer position, but will remain as executive director. FWL has appointed Steve Howes as director of professional services. Howes brings more than 21 years' experience working in a subsidiary company of FWL. FWL's management team comprises three executive directors, Paul Griffin (CEO), Robin Birch (CFO & deputy CEO), and Dave Renshaw (COO). FWL is split into five functional divisions covering three geographic regions, each with its own director: Stephen McCartney (director of sales & marketing), Lisa Beaudoin (director of product development), Julie Scott (director of customer services), Peter Sullivan (director of business & commercial services), Iain Macpherson (regional director for India), Terry Malone (regional director for Asia) and Bill Degnan (regional director of Americas). Deutsche Post World Net has appointed Alexandre Bruggmann as regional communications manager Europe. Bruggmann joins DPWN from GeoPost where he was director of corporate communications. Marten Transport has appointed James Hinnendael as chief financial officer, effective January 1, 2006. Marten's controller and a fourteen-year member of the company's management team, Hinnendael will succeed Darrell Rubel, who has now retired after twenty years as company's CFO. Landstar System has appointed Landstar Express America president Ron Stanley as Landstar chief operating officer, and Landstar Logistics president Jim Handoush as president of Landstar Global Logistics. Stanley joined Landstar in 1996 as president of Landstar Express America. He has 23 years' experience in transportation marketing, specialising in global airfreight. Handoush joined Landstar in 1996 as vice president of finance & administration at Landstar Logistics, and has served as president of that company since 2004. Sea Containers Ltd has appointed Robert MacKenzie as president & CEO, effective January 4, 2006. James Sherwood, the founder of the company, remains chairman in a non-executive capacity and Ian Durant, chief financial officer & interim chief executive has reverted to the purely chief financial officer role. MacKenzie will be nominated for election to the company's board of directors along with Michael Ingham, at the 2006 annual meeting of shareholders in June 2006.
