PSC, in conjunction with BlueStar and epcSolutions, has announced the introduction of an easy-to-execute RFID bundle designed to help solution providers successfully sell, install and support RFID solutions.

Containing a reader, printer, media roll and software, this RFID bundle is a complete solution for those under mandates from Wal-Mart or the Dept. of Defence (DOD).

The bundle consists of the PSC Falcon 5500 RFID Mobile Hybrid Computer, a Zebra or Datamax printer/encoder, a roll of RFID media, and epcSolutions RFID software technology.

Member resellers of the BlueStar and Zebra partner programs are automatically qualified to purchase this bundle, and will need no certifications or authorisations from BlueStar or Zebra. All that is required is a working knowledge of RFID, supply chain data structures, and experience implementing successful bar coding and data collection solutions.

According to epcSolutions president Kevin Kail, the bundle enables resellers to immediately deliver an RFID solution to their customers that gives them a true means to create and verify an EPC-compliant label. "In terms of ease of use and speed of set-up, this is the best value on the market. BlueStar can even integrate the software on the mobile computer before it is shipped. All the reseller needs to do is install wizard-driven software and follow the instructions."

"This simple RFID bundle provides a complete solution that enables a fast and easy deployment of RFID technology for customers looking to explore and understand how RFID can change existing supply-chain processes," said Mike Byington, vice president of product development at BlueStar. "We believe this is an effective way to introduce partners to RFID technology and show customers how the technology can enable operational efficiencies and create a competitive advantage."

"BlueStar spent a great deal of time evaluating hardware and software options in order to create a bundled RFID product solution," said Matt Schler, PSC’s general manager & vice president of mobile & wireless products. He added that the bundle provides another option to the increasing number Dept of Defence and retail suppliers adopting RFID technology.
