BDP International has announced that Richard Bolte Sr, the company chairman & CEO, passed away on July 5th, just a month before the 40th anniversary of the company he founded. Bolte was an early adopter of information technology for managing and organising international freight movements and other aspects of global shippers' supply chains. With nearly 2,000 employees and operations in 113 countries, BDP today attributes much of its success to Bolte's penchant for zealous customer care and the introduction of information-based solutions to the complex logistics and documentation needs of customers beginning in the 1970's.
In May this year, the Chemical Heritage Foundation presented Bolte with its first award for supporting industries, citing his contribution to effectively extending the reach of the industry's supply chains during a period of business globalisation.
