TNT Logistics has expanded its business development group in North America; Christian Salvesen has appointed a new UK Support Services director; NYK Logistics has appointed a new business development director.

TNT Logistics North America has added two key managers to its business development group.

James Coyle has more than two decades of transportation operating experience. He joined UPS in 1984 and served in a variety of management positions during the next 22 years, including ground hub manager, air ramp manager, air hub manager and package centre manager.

Foster Thomson IV has more than a decade of sales experience in the 3PL and supply chain field. Most recently, he was director of business development with TSi Logistics. Prior to that, he was technical sales manager with ShipXact and also served as a logistics consultant with Manhattan Associates.

Christian Salvesen recently appointed Simon Payne as the new managing director of its UK Support Services division. Payne’s experience in the logistics industry includes holding senior positions at Safeway and DHL Logistics.

NYK Logistics (UK) Ltd has announced the appointment of John Griffiths as business development director. Griffiths joined NYK in September from Christian Salvesen, where he was managing director of the company’s industrial logistics businesses in France and Iberia. He also takes a place on NYK Logistics’ board of directors. Griffiths’ appointment coincides with NYK’s move to a single operational structure following the legal merger of its two UK business earlier this year.

Also as a result of the restructure, Paul Kavanagh, formerly managing director of NYK’s automotive business, has taken the reins as MD of operations for the whole of NYK Logistics (UK) Ltd.
