1/1/2007 RFID education comes to Canada Source:http://www.eyefortransport.com, Source date: Academia RFID, Canada’s first RFID Training & Certification Centre, has opened its doors, offering a country-wide calendar of courses in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City, Saint-John, Halifax and the company’s head office and RFID lab in Mo “With the industry running around scrambling for answers and solutions, companies need a credible authority with a Canadian perspective,” said Academia RFID founder, Harold Boeck. He said that university researchers, all CompTIA RFID+ certified professionals, from the University of Montreal’s École Polytechnique, University of Sherbrooke and University of Québec have teamed up to offer bilingual courses in RFID technology for beginners, executives, analysts, managers, project leaders and engineers. The group offers consulting services, site surveys and assessments, and has developed RFID best practices through its on-site experience with large corporations. According to Academia’s admin director, Anthony Palermo, the institution is not just a centre to train and certify professionals, it is also on research and development that provides results for companies throughout Canada to better understand the benefits of early-adoption and help measure the potential return on investment of an RFID solution.
Ship2Save has begun offering Academia’s project management (RFID PRO) and fundamentals (RFID101) courses to their clients, including the cost of the courses in its solutions package.
