Led by its operation in Braunschweig, Wincanton handles the distribution of workshop equipment, tools, engines, packaging material and rejected goods for the Volkswagen locations in Wolfsburg, Emden, Braunschweig, Hannover, Salzgitter, Kassel and Bratislava in Slovakia.

A Wincanton location has been dedicated to manage each of the seven Volkswagen factories.

This will allow Wincanton to put packed goods from the factories through its distribution network alongside the non-production material at a later date.

According to Uwe Martens, project manager for Volkswagen Logistics at Wincanton, the deciding factor in awarding the contract was Wincanton’s experience in the automotive sector.
