Famous Pacific Shipping has begun searching for a candidate to fill the newly created new post of group executive director. Norfolk Southern has appointed Cindy Earhart as vice president of human resources, succeeding Thomas Mullenix Jr who retires on March 1st after a 36 years with the company. Thomas Werner will succeed Earhart as vice president of information technology. Both appointments are effective on March 1st. Kitty Hawk Cargo has appointed Gregg Sayler as vice president for ground sales, a newly-created position. Between 1982 and 1994, Sayler was CFO of Forward Air, Landair Transport and Landair Services. In 1994, he founded Airline Logistics, which became a GSA for Kitty Hawk Cargo in 2006. In addition to his responsibilities at Airline Logistics, Sayler also held several other consulting or project management positions in the logistics and shipping industries: executive vice president with Xpress Global Systems, managing director at Pan Am Clipper Cargo, project co-ordinator for cargo sales at Turkish Airlines, CFO for airport property developer - James & Donohew Development, and COO of on-airport properties operator - Inland Air Services. Associated British Ports has named Peter Jones, formerly chief executive of Mersey Docks & Harbour Co (MDHC) as the company’s new chief executive, effective April 1, 2007. He replaces Bo Lerenius, who is retiring from the company at the end of March after eight successful years in the role. Most recently, Hones was chief executive of MDHC, which owns and operates the Ports of Liverpool, Heysham and the Medway ports of Sheerness and Chatham. He a non-executive director of Through Transport Mutual Insurance; he has also served as a non-executive director of the UK Major Ports Group, and as a member of the Bank of England’s North-West Quarterly Panel. Dedicated Transport has appointed three new directors of business development: Larry Strugalski, William Marsh and David Sanders. All three executives have previously held sales positions with Penske Logistics or Ryder Dedicated Services. US Customs & Border Protection has appointed Earl Agron, APL’s vice president of security, to a two-year tenure on the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs & Border Protection & Related Functions (COAC). Agron is the only member of the committee representing a commercial shipping line. Agron is a member of the World Shipping Council’s Security Advisory Committee, the Retail Industry Leaders Association Supply Chain Security Committee and the National Industrial Transportation League’s Select Committee on Security. He has directed security activities and programs worldwide for APL since 2002. Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics has appointed Arild Iversen as president & CEO, effective April 1, 2007. He succeeds Nils Petter Dyvik. Iversen is currently group senior vice president for shipping & logistics at Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA, where he has held various positions since 1979.
Nils Petter Dyvik has been appointed group chief financial officer of Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA, effective August 1, 2007. Dyvik leaves Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics after what has been the best performing year in the history of the company. SkyBitz has appointed three new board members:
