Welcome’s XLS loyalty software will be added to CardBASE’s ‘Mascot’ smart card management system, with the first deployment of the joint solution expected to take place in Europe in the next couple of months.

Nick Searle, VP Sales at CardBASE said: “At CardBASE, we believe that the migration to EMV chip cards will drive the adoption of multi-application smart cards. Our research has shown that the most common applications will be EMV for debit and/or credit, a CEPS standard purse, a digital signature, and a loyalty application.

“We chose to team with Welcome for the loyalty application because they have a proven technology and understanding in their market. We were easily able to integrate the XLS software into our existing infrastructure allowing us to deploy a multi-application smart card system with a loyalty application quickly and easily.”
