Viafone application fuels FedEx tracking

California-based ViaFone Inc. said FedEx Corp. is using one of its applications to enhance its customers' ability to track air and ground packages and find drop-off locations via most wireless devices.
ViaFone said its OneBridge application is being used by FedEx to give customers wireless access to shipping information from more than 50 types of wireless devices including Web-enabled cell phones, two-way pagers and personal digital assistants (PDAs).
In an unrelated FedEx development, a new series of advertising has been launched that features its FedEx InSight application. Web- based InSight allows shipments to be tracked without a tracking number.
