Cost To Uk Businesses Of A Poor Postal Service

Postwatch has commissioned research into the effects on UK businesses of poor postal services (i.e. lost, damaged and delayed mail). Economic consultants NERA, who have a proven track record in the postal market, will conduct this new research. The results of the study, the first of its kind to be focused on the UK postal service, will be published later in the year.
Peter Carr, Chairman of Postwatch, on appointing NERA said, “It is widely accepted that Consignia’s services are not as good as customers expect them to be. What is not known is what the cost to businesses is of this poor service. The study Postwatch has commissioned will fill that gap.
“By putting a cost figure to the problems caused by a poor postal service we hope to draw attention to the issue. This will make businesses look critically at the services they are receiving. Problems have to be identified before they can be resolved.”
