New One-Stop-Shop Guidance For Transport Services

For the first time ever a new information booklet providing guidance on the whole range of flexible local and national public transport services is now available from the Department for Transport.
Free of charge, the guidance document 'Flexible Transport Services' is aimed at all those involved in providing transport services including bus and taxi operators, transport partnerships, local authorities and voluntary groups.
It provides information on for example, flexible buses, taxi services, community buses, shared minicab schemes and community car sharing.
Launching the guidance today, Transport Minister, John Spellar said:
"This is an excellent document providing comprehensive information on transport services.
"It supports our aim of expanding use of public transport and ensuring people are aware of the full range of transport opportunities available."
The guidance has been produced as a follow up to the Rural White Paper and gives examples of schemes being undertaken in rural areas although the services apply equally for urban areas.
