DPWN Permits Card Payments For Express Delivery

Deutsche Post Express GmbH, a subsidiary of Deutsche Post that handles particularly urgent documents and parcels, is the first express delivery company in Germany to introduce card payment for COD Express Parcel shipments.
From mid-November onwards, customers will be able to pay the express delivery on their doorstep using credit card, EC card with PIN or the ‘Geldkarte’ smart card.
Deutsche Post will bear any handling fees charged by banks and credit institutions for all COD payments made with EC cards and for COD payments made by credit card up to amounts of € 200. In principle, no handling fees will be charged for ‘Geldkarte’ payments.
