The Retail Advertising and Marketing Association (RAMA), a division of the National Retail Federation (NRF), and Ambrosi announced today that Paige Davis, host of The Learning Channel’s top-rated Trading Spaces, will host the Retail Advertising Conference (RAC) Annual 2004 Awards Dinner. The RAC Awards are considered the most important advertising competition for retailers and the awards gala is one of the most exciting events to take place during the three-day conference.
Called a “phenomenon” by the New York Times, “Trading Spaces” invites neighbors to swap houses for 48 hours and redo a room in each other’s homes on a $1000 budget with the help of an innovative interior designer. As the show's host, Paige has an intimate knowledge of consumers who are dealing with the retail home products segment. She witnesses their hopes and frustrations as they review their product and style choices. Paige is in charge of keeping the show participants on time and in-line, interviewing the designers and homeowners, defusing crises, and most importantly revealing the final room designs to homeowners.
“Paige is on the front line of consumer behavior and motivation every week with her show, which is incredibly engaging, entertaining and enlightening,” said Mark Pearson, Ambrosi Co-President and RAMA board member. “We think her insights and anecdotes will shake up some of our assumptions about what and how we advertise to move people and motivate action that leads to sales. It's not just showing an item at a good price. It's about making a connection to people's dreams and aspirations.”
“RAC 2004 will be showcasing some of the most innovative ideas in our industry,” said RAMA President Tom Holliday. ”With an emphasis on planning, monitoring, and measuring results, RAC provides a great opportunity to gain the knowledge and tools to guide you in meeting future successes.”
The 2004 RAC Conference expects to register more than 1,000 of the country's top retail marketing professionals for three days of motivational and educational programming. The full event takes place February 11-13, 2004 at the Hilton in downtown Chicago. For more information visit www.rama-nrf.com
