Marshall Field’s and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association took home top retail advertising awards last night at the Retail Advertising Conference (RAC). The Retail Advertising & Marketing Association (RAMA) announced the winners of the RAC 2004 Award for outstanding achievement and creativity in retail advertising and marketing at an awards dinner on Wednesday, February 11, at the Chicago Hilton. A panel of judges consisting of top advertising executives in the retail industry selected the recipients for the RAC Award, the most coveted advertising award in retail.
Marshall Field’s multi-media ad campaign “State Street Renaissance” and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s radio advertisement ‘And They’re Off! were awarded RAC’s “Best of the Best” honors.
“Though these companies produced incredibly different campaigns targeting separate audiences, both winners illustrate how effective advertising plays a vital role in retail success,” said RAMA President Tom Holliday. “The RAC awards recognize the very best in retail advertising and create a blueprint for other retailers to follow.”
The conference is the only annual gathering dedicated solely to the art of advertising and marketing in the retail field. RAC was attended this year by nearly 1,000 retail industry leaders.
The Retail Advertising & Marketing Association (RAMA), a division of the National Retail Federation, is a trade association of over 1500 retail marketing and advertising executives, plus their supporting partners from the advertising agency, media and service-provider areas.
