The National Retail Federation (NRF), the world's largest retail trade group, announced today that Travel Goods Association (TGA) and NRF have developed a membership alliance. This alliance will allow TGA's 126 retail members to join NRF and to become a part of a diverse group of retailers and suppliers that support the industry through education and programs aimed at building retail communities.
"In researching the best possible benefit programs for our retail membership, TGA found NRF's member benefit package to be the association gold standard--particularly its educational programs," says TGA President Michele Marini Pittenger. "TGA is looking forward to solidifying its long-standing relationship with NRF."
An NRF association member since 1999, TGA is a national trade association that represents the manufacturers, distributors, and retailers of luggage, leather goods, business and travel accessories, business and computer cases, handbags, and other products for people who travel. TGA works to promote the growth, profitability, and image of the travel goods industry.
The National Retail Federation is the world's largest retail trade association, with membership that comprises all retail formats and channels of distribution including department, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet and independent stores as well as the industry's key trading partners of retail goods and services. NRF represents an industry with more than 1.4 million U.S. retail establishments, more than 23 million employees - about one in five American workers - and 2003 sales of $3.8 trillion. As the industry umbrella group, NRF also represents more than 100 state, national and international retail associations
