NRF announces new board members

The National Retail Federation (NRF) today announced the newest members of its Board of Directors, elected during NRF's 94th Annual Convention and Expo in New York City.
Arnold B. Zetcher, Chairman, President and CEO, The Talbots, Inc., will continue as Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Executive Committee, serving his second year of a two-year term. M. Farooq Kathwari, Ethan Allen Inc. Chairman, President and CEO, will serve a one-year term as First Vice Chairman. In addition, he will serve as Chairman of the Finance Committee and Treasurer. Paul R. Charron, Chairman and CEO, Liz Claiborne Inc., will succeed Kathwari as Second Vice Chairman of the Board. Charron will also serve a one-year term.
"Our impressive Board includes a diverse group of retailers, each of whom represents NRF's growing member base," said Tracy Mullin, NRF President and CEO. "The experience and expertise of each board member is essential as we continue to serve our members and address leading retail issues."

Steve Ladwig, General Manager, Retail Industry, IBM Corporation, and Walter Loeb, President, Loeb Associates, were elected as representatives of NRF's Associate Member Advisory Council

Shrin Murthy, VP, Administration, International Dairy Queen, and Chairman of the National Council of Chain Restaurants, a division of NRF, was elected as a divisional representative to the NRF Board.
The National Retail Federation is the world's largest retail trade association, with membership that comprises all retail formats and channels of distribution including department, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet and independent stores as well as the industry's key trading partners of retail goods and services. NRF represents an industry with more than 1.4 million U.S. retail establishments, more than 23 million employees - about one in five American workers - and 2004 sales of $4.1 trillion. As the industry umbrella group, NRF also represents more than 100 states, national and international retail associations.
