Travelsave is a new national loyalty card program being offered to small, independent car sales outlets and repair centers that will enable them to benefit from the marketing efforts typically only available to major national groups. Customers would be offered a choice of cash-back options or points when using the Travelsave card.
The goal of the program is to create a network of 1,500 automotive outlets in the UK – but only one per business sector in each UK postcode.
The rewards would be an immediate cash-back payment of up to 10 percent or the equivalent in points. A customer buying a £15,000 ($28,853 USD) car could earn two airline tickets to New York. A £600 ($1,154 USD) payment for services would earn a trip to Paris.
"The Travelsave 'program' will enable independent outlets to incentivise both new purchases and repeat custom without compromising on price,” said Travelsave founder Richard Jacobs.
Hugh Roberts, founder of the Independent Garage Association and CEO of Autologic, said: "Consumer spending on domestic vehicles is the second biggest expense facing British families, yet until now there has been no equivalent scheme to reward customers for their loyalty. Travelsave enables participating outlets to take advantage of a marketing tool that has worked well in the retail sector for years and yet has, until now, been out of the reach of independents."
