Sainsbury’s has today announced the acquisition of the Somerfield store in Sleaford, Lincolnshire.
All colleagues previously employed at the Somerfield store have joined Sainsbury’s under TUPE regulations. These colleagues are currently working in nearby stores where they are undergoing in-store training.
The store will be fully refurbished with new fixtures and fittings and will be re-branded as a Sainsbury’s.
When the store opens in the Autumn customers can expect a full range of products including Sainsbury’s signature ranges; Taste the Difference, Be Good To Yourself and So Organic, the store will also offer a delicatessen counter.
Peter Baguley, Sainsbury’s Property Director said: “We have a clear objective to bring Sainsbury’s to as many communities as possible and are looking for new sites throughout the UK. We have a great heritage of providing customers with great food at fair prices and for being an established and responsible part of local communities. We are very much looking forward to opening our new store in Sleaford and welcoming our new colleagues and customers to Sainsbury’s.”
