Mobile phone giant Vodafone has launched a staff incentive programme that builds on its partnership with The Big Idea, Sky TV's series to find budding entrepreneurs.
Its internal campaign, also called The Big Idea, encourages people to engage with the business, recognise the value of their input and be more motivated at work as a result.
Each employee has been asked to submit a new idea that will “delight” Vodafone customers by making their lives easier. The reward for the best idea is a luxury holiday, with runners-up receiving Palm Smartphones.
The top five idea submissions will be presented to the UK board at the end of the competition. They will also be videoed for clips to be placed on a microsite so staff can vote on their favourite. The winning idea will be assessed for feasibility and rolled out later this year.
“Vodafone hopes that the programme will motivate employees to further contribute to the success of the business,” a spokeswoman said.
The Big Idea ran on Sky One until November, hosted by The Apprentice's runner-up, Ruth Badger. The public decided on whose start-up venture should be rewarded with the top £100,000 prize.
