Pop superstar Britney Spears has begun issuing smart cards to her fans.
The cards have been designed to give fans exclusive access to behind-the-scenes videos and photos, as well as to promotional offers online.
The singer’s Web site, www.britneyspears.com, is offering five versions of the multicoloured SmartFlash Collectible Card, each bearing an image of Britney and carrying a different feature in its chip.
Fans will plug in smart card readers to their personal computers and insert the cards, which will take them to restricted sections of the Web site to find back-stage concert photos, rehearsal videos, samples of new music and other content not available to others. Fans need to sign up to the official website to be eligible for the new cards.
