Allders and Dollond & Aitchison join Tesco Clubcard
A major expansion of Tesco Clubcard will give shoppers even more opportunities to earn valuable Clubcard points in the High Street, as two more big brand names sign-up to the country’s premier loyalty scheme.
A deal that enables Allders and Dollond & Aitchison to award Clubcard points in their stores has been finalised, and means that Tesco shoppers will now be able to collect points in over 3,300 outlets up and down the country.
Millions of customers shopping at Allders, one of the countries largest department stores and Dollond & Aitchison opticians will be able to collect Clubcard points in the same way as Tesco customers. Every £1 spent will earn 1 Clubcard point, that can be redeemed in Tesco stores, for Clubcard deals or for AirMiles.
Using a Clubcard for other purchases can be very fruitful for our shoppers. For example, a family looking to buy a new leather 3-piece suite (£2,499) and a Toshiba widescreen flat screen TV (£1,499) could accumulate almost 4,000 Clubcard points, which, for Premium Clubcard holders, would give up to £160 off shopping, a white water rafting day out for two five visits to the cinema for a family of four, or by using points as AirMiles shoppers could get two return flights to Amsterdam or Paris.
Tesco customers earn £200 million a year in Clubcard points, which can be used on everything in Tesco shops, and can also be used to buy AIR MILES. Alternatively, customers can choose Tesco Clubcard Deals, where they can trade up to make their vouchers worth 4 times their face value - with 150 partners, such as Blockbuster, Alton Towers, UGC Cinemas, and the RAC, no other loyalty scheme offers so much choice or value. For example, a ticket to Legoland can be had for as little as £5.20 in Clubcard vouchers, whilst within the Nectar scheme, a customer has to redeem £15 worth of vouchers.
Commenting on the expansion, Tim Mason, Tesco Marketing Director said:
" Expanding the Clubcard scheme to include 2 more high street names will give Tesco shoppers Clubcard points on more of their shopping, which is what they have been asking for. Shoppers will be able to earn more points than ever before. In some cases this could add thousands of points to their points tally in one go.
" There are now over 3,300 places that shoppers can collect Clubcard points. We are taking Tesco Clubcard, and over 10 million regular Clubcard Point collectors, to new heights."
Harvey Lipsith, Chief Executive of Allders said:
" This is an exciting development for Allders and a further step in our strategy of repositioning the business to make it more contemporary and appealing to customers. We are dedicated to delivering value for money and choice to all our customers, and by offering Tesco Clubcard points on all purchases, we are creating yet another reason to shop at Allders."
