Schenker has been awarded the logistics partner contract for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest Latvia.
The contest takes place on May 24 in Riga.
Schenker will provide full logistics support including transport to and from Latvia and customs clearance of sound and lighting technique and other necessary equipment. The project requires significant administration and agreements with customs authorities, border guard and local authorities.
SIA Schenker deputy MD Aivars Tuarins said the contract provided the company with an opportunity across a European-wide logistics supply chain. The contest involves performers from 26 countries.
Schenker has already handled the 2002 European Song Contest in Tallinn and the Sydney and Salt Lake Olympic Games for their national teams.
Latvian subsidiary SIA Schenker specialises in European land operations as well as international air and sea freight, warehousing and related logistics services via its branch in Riga.
