A joint venture led by TNT Logistics has received a contract from Fiat to handle inbound logistics for the Italian automaker's plants.
TNT will have a 51-percent share in the venture, while its partner, Arvil, will hold the other 49 percent. The work will include material and components transport, handling and assembly line feeding.
The joint venture will seek to optimise and integrate all logistics services and to further improve the planning and management of the material flows.
In the past, Fiat split its inbound logistics among TNT, Arvil and a company called Logint. TNT Logistics and Arvil recently each acquired each 50 percent of the shares in Logint. Italy's antitrust authority has approved the joint venture, TNT said
