Systems Defined, LLC announces the creation of a strategic alliance with Task-Based Technologies, of Sarasota, FL. This alliance seeks to capitalize on Systems Defined’s knowledge of Instructional Design and Content Management with Task-Based Technologies’ expertise in developing task-based support tools, which assist users in performing complex tasks to predetermined specifications.
Task-Based Technologies has created a process called “The Mentor” that identifies/catalogues all the relevant procedural information by job function giving the user a “Mentor” each time a they perform a task.
The Mentor is being is being launched at FedEx where it will be custom designed to work with existing automated systems. In utilizing this new tool, FedEx expects to reduce repair and maintenance cycle and drastically reduce training time.
The Mentor will be designed to work equally well on the entire fleet of aircraft, Boeing, Douglas, and Airbus. When asked why FedEx would undertake this project with Task-Based Technologies, Mr. Mike Peugh, Program Leader, Aircraft Line Maintenance said;
“We were impressed with Task-Based Technologies because of the work they had done for the Military, their knowledge of different types of publishing software, and their flexibility in developing a tagging structure to mesh with our legacy systems.”
