Menlo Worldwide Expedite has launched Menlo PLM, its new Premium Logistics Management system.
Menlo PLM is a highly customisable solution that determines the most cost-effective mode of transport and transportation alternatives based on the number of pieces, origin, destination, shipment weight, ready time and carrier tariffs.
Through a link to the FAA's global satellite tracking service, the system automatically pinpoints the exact in-transit location of all aircraft and flights at any given time. It also provides real-time weather updates, offering alternate routes in the event of weather diversions or airport closures.
Customers can connect to Menlo PLM via phone, e-mail or the internet. Menlo has already made PLM available for all North American shipments, and has plans for a global roll-out.
