RedPrairie's LENS® gives CHEP both real-time and historical visibility to
track RFID tagged inventory throughout the distribution process.
CHEP's Innovation Centre in Orlando, Florida is a development and validation
facility dedicated to the design and execution of tests that address key supply
chain issues. The Innovation Centre demonstration illustrates how the CHEP
PLUS ID offering helps customers to streamline their supply chain processes.
Recent mandates from the Department of Defence and several mass retailers
require suppliers to track inventory at pallet and case level by January next
year.
CHEP has implemented RedPrairie's LENS to demonstrate successful RFID tracking
of CHEP pallets and associated products. It utilises GlobeRanger's iMotion
edgeware platform to process RFID data and interact with EPC Information Service
to create summarised, end-to-end graphical views of customer supply chains.
CHEP is also leveraging RedPrairie's supply chain expertise during the design
and execution of customised tests to determine how companies can best deploy
RFID in their environment and address companies' specific material handling
needs.
John Jazwiec, company leader at RedPrairie added: "RedPrairie and CHEP
have worked together since co-founding the RFID Centre of Excellence with
Unilever, Intermec, and other leading consumer goods and technology companies
in March 2002. Our latest partnership combines advanced supply chain solutions,
RFID technology and decades of experience to provide companies with sophisticated,
real-world testing for successful RFID deployment."
