Frito Lay and the PepsiCo Business Solutions Group are rolling out hand-held computers and mobile printers as part of a new direct-store delivery selling system in North America. Intermec Technologies Corp. will provide the hardware and related equipment, with deployment scheduled for the first quarter of 2005.
Frito-Lay, a division of PepsiCo Inc., makes the Lay's, Ruffles, Doritos and other brands of snack chips. The mobile computing system will include wireless communications options. The system is part of the company's "Precision Execution" initiative.
