Swissport International has developed a new cargo tracking and tracing system for its customers that not only uses the latest internet technology but also sets new benchmarks in the cargo and airport handling sector. The new “FreightFinder” product is set for roll-out from September 15th onwards.
FreightFinder can be used at any time of the day or night to constantly monitor entire cargo flows up to the shipment level. The new application also pays due and full regard to sensitive and confidential data: the system’s special access codes and identification procedures ensure that customer data are only made available to approved user groups.
Swissport has high hopes that FreightFinder will sharpen its competitive edge in the keenly contested cargo handling market. “This new and simple monitoring system will offer the opportunity for airlines and cargo companies to optimise their workflows,” says Paul Marsman, Swissport’s project manager for FreightFinder’s development.
“One of the many advantages of FreightFinder is that carriers will be able to monitor the build-up and break-down of their flights from anywhere, via the Internet. Until now carriers would have had to install a terminal of the handler system,” adds the head of Swissport’s Cargo Division Europe/Middle East & Africa, David Harman.
Various airlines, with whom Swissport has intensive business relations, have been involved in the development of FreightFinder. After being subjected to extensive testing, FreightFinder is now ready to enter service
