Schenker’s new complex located close to the Antwerp-Brussels is well equipped for distribution throughout Belgium and to the neighbouring countries of France, England, the Netherlands and Germany. Willebroek has a fast connection to the major highways and the ring around Brussels, and, the adjacent sea canal makes it possible to link domestic shipping into the logistics concepts. A railroad connection is also possible. Equipped with the most up-to-date information and communication technology, the Willebroek facility offers a particularly high degree of flexibility in the handling of foodstuffs that may not be stored together with other goods.
According to Rude Debras, managing director of Schenker’s Belgian company, Schenker N.V, the rapid distribution of consumer goods, especially from the foodstuffs sector, has been part of the company’s core logistics business in Belgium for a long time. He added that Schenker has established a reputation within the industry for reliable and punctual delivery, and its employees have, over the years, developed special expertise in the safe handling of foodstuffs.
In other news, for the fourth consecutive year, Schenker Australia has been selected as the official logistics provider and the exclusive on-site handling agent for CeBIT Australia.
