DHL has announced an exclusive two-year, multi-million dollar agreement with online floral and gift supplier – GrowerFlowers.com.
DHL will provide overnight delivery for GrowerFlowers' fresh grown bouquets direct from greenhouses on the East and West Coasts to customers throughout the US.
According to Forrester Research, online floral sales are expected to reach $1.75 billion by 2008. During recent peak floral shipment periods, the Wholesale Florist & Floral Supplier Association cites healthy year-on-year floral sales growth, including a 25% increase in online flower purchases for 2006 Valentine's Day shipping period and a 16% increase for Mother's Day over the prior year.
DHL's Partnership CARE team rapidly integrated DHL and GrowerFlowers.com's computer systems to meet the increased volume this past Mother's Day.
DHL also fully integrated its shipping software system with GrowerFlowers' internal database, to seamlessly extract address information, assign tracking numbers and print shipping labels. EasyShip provides a high-performance server and multiple client shipping stations with software to connect customers' ordering and shipping databases, track shipments and shipping costs, and report on shipment payment history.
GrowerFlowers.com will leverage DHL exclusively throughout the year for peak seasons
