Cert FMCG has been awarded a contract by D&D Wines International in the UK; Wincanton has won a new contract with Schuss Praha in the Czech Republic; and the USPS has renewed ABX Air’s contract for the Indianapolis hub.
Cert FMCG, part of the CERT Group, has won a new, ongoing contract to provide storage and distribution services to Cheshire, UK-based wine supplier, D&D Wines International.
Under the contract Cert FMCG will manage the warehousing and delivery of D&D wines throughout the UK. The operation will be run from Cert’s bonded, multi-user site in Middleton, Manchester.
Orders will be downloaded via Cert’s secure web-based ordering and stock monitoring system (Cert Online), picked and distributed to major retailers, wholesalers and cash & carries via Cert’s approved Regional Network Partners.
Schuss Praha has contracted Wincanton to provide storage and distribution services for Toshiba branded goods in the Czech Republic.
The products are warehoused Wincanton's facility near Prague. From there, Wincanton distributes them throughout the Czech Republic, and once a week arranges for a shipment of goods to Austria and Germany.
Wincanton also provides ad hoc customs clearance services for any Toshiba goods imported into the EU from non-EU countries.
ABX Air’s subsidiary, ABX Cargo Services, has been awarded a new four-year contract to manage the USPS’s terminal handling services in Indianapolis.
This is the third USPS contract awarded to ABX is as many months. In July, ABX was awarded a contract to manage the USPS sort centre in Dallas, and in August to manage the USPS sort centre in Memphis.
ABX has managed the USPS sort facility in Indianapolis since 2004. The new four-year contract expands ABX’s role there through October 2010, and is projected to generate US$17.7 million in additional revenues for ABX over the contract period.
Each of the USPS hub contracts provides for two 2-year extensions at the discretion of the USPS
