Christian Salvesen has appointed a new corporate development director; Excel Airways Group's chairman announces his retirement; the Port of Tacoma has a new director of container terminal contracts; Wilh. Wilhelmsen has a new vice president of logistics; and Aviapartner France has appointed a new managing director.
Christian Salvesen has appointed Sarah Vawda to the position of corporate development director. Ms Vawda joins the company from Corus Group, where she was the deputy director responsible for M&A and corporate development.
Avion Group has announced that Eamonn Mullaney, a member of the Avion board and chairman of Avion subsidiary Excel Airways Group, will retire on October 31, 2006. Mullaney was part of the team that formed Excel Airways in November 2000. He moved from executive chairman to non-executive chairman at the beginning of the year, having reduced his working week to three days in preparation for full retirement at the end of the airlines summer season.
Magnus Thorsteinsson, chairman of Avion Group, will take over as chairman of Excel Airways Group.
The Port of Tacoma has appointed Michael Reilly as director of container terminal contracts. A transportation industry veteran with 27 years experience in contract negotiations, operational and commercial management experience in logistics, warehousing and trucking, Reilly was executive vice president of Mercedes Distribution Centre (New York) before joining the Port. Prior to this, he was executive vice president of National Distribution Centre (Vineland, New Jersey) and vice president of sales & operations for Burnham Service Co (Columbus, Georgia).
Wilh. Wilhelmsen has appointed Vidar Hole as vice president of logistics in the Shipping & Logistics department. For the past six years, he has worked for Kitron ASA, the last two years as president of Kitron Sourcing. Prior to that, he was procurement & logistics director for the same company.
Aviapartner has appointed Pierre Carron as managing director of Aviapartner France, effective immediately. Carron joins Aviapartner from his present position as assistant general manager of Cofathec Services. He was also member of the Group’s executive committee of the Group. Previously, he was responsible for the German operations of the Elyo Group (Suez-Lyonnaise).
Pierre Carron will replace Michel Ragot, who is leaving the company
