The Descartes Systems Group and LTL for-hire transportation company, SCG The Select Carrier Group, have formed an alliance that provides SCG and their customers integrated shipment visibility.
SCG is using Descartes' multi-modal electronic messaging network – the Global Logistics Network (GLN) – which enables customers to automate communication exchanges for load tenders, status message updates (PODs, etc) and freight invoices.
“Our service alliance with Descartes is a key component of our customer service strategy and performance,” said Kathi Laughman, SCG vice president of Business Systems, adding that Descartes helps to provide full visibility to all interested parties involved in the service cycles, enabling SCG to give customers the highest level of support and still achieve automation driven efficiencies.
Descartes said the relationship with SCG demonstrates the continued expansion of services and support that it provides to the multi-modal transportation industry.
