Upplands Vasby, Sweden--Minec is supplying Ragn-Sells with a waste collection data-registration system using Memor2000 hand-held terminals and RF identification of waste containers and contents. Ragn-Sells, a Swedish waste collection contractor with more than 1,500 employees and 1,000 collection vehicles, uses the system to register containers holding sorted industrial waste.
Transponders are used to identify waste materials. Ragn-Sells has programmed each transponder with site-location information, container number, waste material code, container type, volume, customer order numbers, etc. Data is transferred from the Memor2000 terminals via modem or GSM to Ragn-Sells' IT center. It can then be used to produce invoices, statistics and reports.
Ragn-Sells plans to introduce a system for weighing containers in the future.
