By logging on to "MyUPS.com," all UPS customers – including individual consumers shipping for the holiday or any other time – can print labels on a regular sheet of paper and charge their shipments to a credit card.
This convenience is nothing new to many UPS business customers who have been using the online service since 1999. But the Internet Shipping technology provides access to all holiday shippers for everything from economical ground service to premium overnight and most international options.
UPS Internet Shipping is a secure Web-based service; no shipping software is required.
Customers can bill shipments to a credit card or to a UPS account.
Shipments can be made to (or from) every address in the United States and to over 200 countries and territories around the world.
Users can schedule an air package pick-up at their home or office up to four days in advance. Packages also can be handed off to a UPS driver or dropped off at one of more than 3,000 Mail Boxes Etc. locations, a UPS customer counter or one of thousands of authorized UPS retail shipping locations.
Users can track an Internet Shipping package anywhere, any time from wireless phones, pagers or handheld computers. Shipping detail is displayed for up to 90 days.
E-mail notification can alert the recipient that the package is on the way.
Users can create an address book with up to 300 recipients.
"UPS is committed to developing cutting-edge technology for all of its customers, from the largest manufacturers and retailers to small and medium sized businesses to the individual consumer who simply wants the same reliable service to deliver that special gift," said Joseph Guerrisi, UPS vice president of customer technology. "However they connect, we want each customer to have the same high-end UPS experience."
When in doubt, holiday shippers can take their packages to the experts at one of the more than 3,000 Mail Boxes Etc. locations or UPS customer counters for all packing and shipping needs.
